Suspension

A custom suspension, including sway bars and a strut tower brace, was installed first and was followed by a high performance braking system. The brake calipers were powder coated a metallic purple color to match the nitrous system components.

Audio Video Unit

After discussion with several aftermarket automotive audio vendors, we decided to use Safe Systems on Brookpark Road as our audio expert and provider of all audio/video components. This company was chosen primarily because Tim Beck, Owner, agreed to come to our shop to advise and work with the students on the installation of this high end audio/video system. Tim donated many, many hours of labor for this project and provided the components at cost.

Interior

GM donated interior trim and pedal covers which helped accent the interior. The cloth seats were recovered with custom leather seat skins.

Custom Paint Scheme

After the car was designed by Remington Phillips, we took the it to Automotive Excellence, a top quality auto repair and body shop. Rich Sacha, the owner, graciously donated countless hours of labor and supplied the materials at cost to complete the paint job. Walt Halloran from D&S Color Supply did most of the custom work, air brushing and hand painting. D&S was kind enough to allow Walt the needed time to complete this. PPG also donated paint.

Turning the Cobalt from red to pearl white metallic turned out to be very time consuming. Because Tri-C does not offer an auto body program, the painting was the only part of the project that students did not participate in.

Wheels

GM donated custom wheels.
